You don't have to live by the sea to know that the Royal National Lifeboats Institution are a pretty amazing bunch of people. Last year alone these brave volunteers saved 7,834 people from trouble at sea. But their selflessness doesn't stop there. Oh no. These guys can knit too. Just check out the fine needle work of the guys and girls down at RNLI HQ in Poole, Dorset.
On Friday 30th January, the RNLI hold their biggest fundraising day of the year - RNLI SOS. People can do whatever they want to join in, as long as it's based around the SOS acronym - Share Our Snacks, Shave our Scalp, Stuff Our Sporran - to raise funds to help save lives at sea. So take a look at their SOS website, get your thinking caps on, and support the people that give up their time to look out for us.
