And what happens when you water the seeds? the paper goes soggy and collapses, Brilliant!!
June

This is a really excellent tip, I have used a rolling pin in the past, but will now use an innocent smoothy bottle instead.
I have used pots made of newspaper for years - they are surprisingly robust and would need to be truly overwatered to make the paper go soggy and collapse!

Brilliant - simple but brilliant

Its a pretty thick layer of paper, which will be supported by the soil, so it's not going to collapse when watered!

Another bonus is when you replant them in your garden, you can just make some root-holes and put the whole pot into the ground, less messy and it will biodegrade.

Great idea Ciaran!

The paper pots lasted fo more than three months outdoors last summer, Then we had to plant the nasturtiums which we had grown. We had no trouble with soggy bottoms!

Brilliant! Will give this a go at the weekend. Thanks Ciaran :)
