At Fruit Towers today we had a homemade cake stall, miles of bunting, talk of dog agility and wellie wanging, as well as some unconfirmed reports that a splinter group from the accounts team might be setting up their own morris dancing troop. Strange indeed, but all will be revealed.
We also had a very successful bring and buy sale. Everything's been snapped up apart from two classic pieces of modern literature generously donated by Jan – The Archers 1951-67 and The Archers 1968-86. He's all heart.
So, being a company that likes to give something back, we're offering these as a prize, right here on this blog.
The question - how does the theme tune to The Archers go? The best two answers this afternoon win. Good luck.
***UPDATE - WE HAVE A WINNER***
Jen - you won. Your gambit of putting words to the tune has paid off. Get in touch with us at [blog at innocentdrinks co uk], drop us your details and we'll send you the books so that your mum can have a read of them. We hope her chemo goes well.
it's is the barwick green song and goes dum dee dum dee dee dee dum, dum dee dum dee dee dum, etc
It's a country dancing song! something i unfortunately was forced to do at school!
I think the prize should include some smoothies aswell, as they are just sooooo yummy!

I think it's more along the lines of da, rather than dum if that makes sense.. until later on in the song where it goes dee, dee, diddley, dee, dee, diddley, dee, dee, diddley, dee. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, dooooooo.
Erm, it seems like I'm going slightly bonkers...I'm all alone in the office, and have just had to hum it to myself in order to write it down!
The theme tune reminds my brother and I of when we were little and our Mum used to listen to it at lunchtime whilst eating pear and cheese with crackers (she swears she didn't eat this odd combo everyday, but that's how we remember it!)
I'm all in agreement for the prize to include smoothies too- please!!

From painful Sunday morning breakfast memories, I'm going to shoot for:
Dum-de-dum-de-dum-de-dum, dum-de-dum-de-daa-daaaa,
Dum-de-dum-de-dum-de-dum, dum-de-diddly-doooo,
Dum-de-diddly, dum-de-diddly, dum-de-diddly-daa-daaaa,
Dum-de-dum-de-dum-de-dum, dum-de-diddly-doooo!
RUM-te-tum-te-tum-te-tum...
Obviously.

The Archers is real. It's a fly on the wall doco about a real village.
And the prize wouldn't be for me. It'd go to my Mum who's been inflicting The Archers on me since I was a kid and it'd be nice to give her the books so she has something to read when she goes in for her next (and final! yay!) chemo treatment in a few weeks' time.
