It is also very foggy here. I feel like I am in a Dickens film. Very nice though, I do like fog.

I don't like fog. I like snow. I got lost on the way to work because it was so foggy but fortunately I managed to find a postman who had a flashy light and he led me to the front door of my office. Helpful postman.

I forget what fog is. What is the difference between fog & mist? I find that rather interesting.

Ah funny you should ask that Porge. The answer lies in their thickness – and how far we can see through them (ie: the visibility). If we can see less than 1 km through the cloud of water droplets, it is known as fog. If we can see between 1 and 2 km, we call it mist. Key fact: although mist and fog look like smoke, they are actually tiny drops of water floating in the air. In fact, they are clouds that have formed at ground level.

You're quite brainy aren't you? I am impressed.

Oh yes it doesn't stop there - did you know that mist and fog usually form at night when the air is too cold to hold all its moisture. Clear skies mean that the ground gets cold and it then cools the air close to it. This cool air causes condensation and water droplets form in the air. Fogs are thickest when the air can hold a lot of moisture.

i miss this combination as a big carton! i got a little bottle today and it made my cold feel a lot better.

Hi Chloe, Do you think your cold is worse because of the fog. it's freezing cold isn't it.

Claire you seem so clever (you probably have your own Stevenson screen in your back garden). Can you come up with a cure for Chloe's cold..
