A couple of things about our campaign to get rid of VAT on smoothies:
1. The story made it into the FT this weekend. It's gathering speed.
2. If you feel strongly about it, you can go to www.writetothem.com , find your local MP and send them a note. Or indeed send them a note about whatever is bothering you the most - late buses, wonky town hall clock, lack of good discos in your constituency. Use the power of democracy, today.
Thanks to Gil, who let us know about www.writetothem.com via our blog comments.
PledgeBank (www.pledgebank.com) is another great online tool from the people behind Write to Them - you can use it to find other people to join you in a campaign / pledge. It could be a way of generating letters to MPs or finding supporters for any other campaign ideas you come up with.

Don't you think it would be better to campaign to remove VAT from actually essential things, like tampons and other sanitary products? Though I love smoothies (and yours are lovely), there's really nothing essential about them. I know that goes for a lot of other things too - but really us women can't do without tampons, and we get taxed for it. That's really unfair; it's not like there's an alternative for us.

Hello Lisa
The more the merrier. We'd love to campaign against all unjust taxes. We just thought we'd start with smoothies because that's kind of what we do. A bit selfish but true.
