You might remember we ran a competition back in May where you could write your own label for one of our bottles.
There were over 300 entries and last week, the innocent family voted for their favourite.
It was a close call but in the end, Chloe from Enniskillen was the hands down winner.
Her words will be joining the brand new set of labels that we've been working on and that are literally heading off to the printers today.
Don't worry. The apostrophe in 'people's' is fully present in Chloe's winning label. It just got missed on this competition template. Wrists have been slapped and ears well clipped as a result.
Here's a little sneak preview of what's in store from our shiny new packaging collection (by way of a treat/apology for poor punctuation)
Big well done again to Chloe on her excellent label. Keep your eyes peeled for our new Autumn/Winter label collection, on shelf from September.

Nice one Chloe. If only there was an apostrophe in "peoples", like there should be. Tsk Tsk, indeed.

AAARGH!! there's a typo in people's! If you continue with this design you will force me to graffiti every bottle in the shop in a effort to rectify the situation...

On a pedant bandwagon here, but should the 2 in CO2 be subscript (this box won't let me do it)
open to discussion
second point - should the words 'shake it up' and 'baby' be used in the same sentence? It may be misunderstood by some? Does no-one consider health and safety?

Please change the spelling of peoples to people's! Arghhh
Posted by: sar | July 15, 2009 at 12:23 PM
Yes, please change it! It's so big, too, and on the front of the bottle!
Posted by: G | July 15, 2009 at 12:46 PM
surely you mean peoples' not people's. You people!
Posted by: Kevin | July 15, 2009 at 02:44 PM
'People' is already plural. You can't pluralise a plural, so people's it is... You person! :-)
(But please correct the apostrophe, Innocent!)

Chloe here! Just want to say a massive thanks to everyone that voted for my label, I'm so excited about seeing lots of them on the shelves!
And as a fellow pedant, I would also like to reiterate the need to make it "people's"... that bit had nothing to do with me!

Hello there
Don't worry. All apostrophes will be present on the actual label.
The competition template which you can see above was missing one and Ted's had a well clipped ear as a result.

Hahahaha. Brilliant Chloe. Absolutely brilliant.

Lol, nice work there. I'll be looking out for that 'un

Hilarious Chloe, awesome job. I'm working on a label rebrand for my company in Canada, and I know that getting the same feedback over and over before you've had a chance to edit something can drive you batty, so I will refrain from mentioning...that thing that everyone one else already slagged you for. ;-)

Chloe - I hope the joy of winning outweighs all the false accusations of illiteracy. Can't wait to see them!

Kristy, 'people' can be a SINGULAR noun, denoting a nation or a race. Innocent were just trying to show that their drinks are for all nations, and are not solely this nation's.
(Making up excuses for typos is my favourite form of procrastination.)

Doh!
Posted by: Kristy | July 16, 2009 at 08:23 AM
Well done! That's the one I voted for too!
All were good but you summed up the art of label reading!!
Posted by: micho | July 16, 2009 at 10:41 AM
The subscript is correct. It is the chemical formula
Posted by: Seppo | July 16, 2009 at 10:51 AM
Well done Chloe - I voted for yours whilst I should have been doing something else, which is what I should be doing right now actually... I hope my boss doesn't read this!
Love from the Queen of Procrastination, and Innocent's biggest fan :)

My Mum was a nurse (back in the 60s) and she told me a story about a bloke who came in one day with terrible sinus problems.
Turns out... a tomato pip had lodged in the roof of his mouth and a plant had grown up inside his nose!!
I think it was quite painful so maybe one for the cons list.
