the oldest blogger in the world?

Olivetypingherblog

Olive is 107 years old, and was born in Broken Hill, Australia on 20th October 1899. That's not last century, but the century before.

This is her blog. I'm going to read every post.

Go Olive.

old haunts

Last Sunday I walked down the street where our first ever office was. Even though it's quite near my house I haven't been down there for a while.

Dsc09039

It's an old bus depot called the Buspace, just off Ladbroke Grove in London. When we left that office there were seven of us. Now there are about 190. Things have changed since then.

This place used to be called Terry's Tuck Shop. We used to buy curry there at lunchtime. Terry and his family would be cooking out the back and you'd get whatever they'd made that day. It was shut when I walked past (Sunday morning) so I couldn't check to see if Terry was still there.

And this is our old front door. Don't know who's using that office now. Hope they're looking after the old place.

when you're tired of running...

Post_run_kip_43_1
...it's nice to have a beanbag to hand

There comes a time in every champion athlete's career when he or she has to up their game in order to move on to the next level of physical supremacy. And so that time has come in our training. Gone are the mornings where we could fit a nice little 4 mile run in before work and still have time for showers, breakfast and hairstraightening.

This week, the tiredness has properly kicked in. The runs are getting longer and getting to work in time to fit in a 7 mile run is proving a challenge in itself. With only 8 weeks to go to the start line, the pressure is on to keep up our motivation and momentum without falling asleep during our cool down stretches.

So, we’d love any tips you have on improving our energy levels in general.

These are some of the suggestions we’ve had so far:

A_banana_8_1
a banana

A_big_cup_of_coffee_1_1
a big cup of coffee

A_lovely_mascot_to_cheer_us_on_our_train_1
a mascot to cheer us on our training runs

Tiredness aside, we have found something that has made running more fun. Celebrity spotting whilst pounding the pavements.

On-the-jog celebrity spot #1: Whilst running on Hampstead Heath last w/e, Ceri puffed past former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, who was looking all rosy cheeked while pushing her lovely little baby.

On-the-jog celebrity spot #2: Eloise ran past Bridget Jones author Helen Fielding as she was rushing to catch a train. It sort of counts.

So, while you’re thinking of ways to help us keep on running, we’d love any favourite London running routes you might have for our long runs at the weekends.

Ideally, we’re looking to do between 13-18 mile runs over the next few weekends.

Potential celebrity spots optional.

snow in scandinavia

Now this is snow, Danish style. None of that one inch rubbish that stops all of our trains and causes chaos on the roads. This is proper.

If you can't get out of the door, you can't get out of the door. No work for you today.

help us fix our macs

Dsc09079

Our IT folks have asked us to pass on a request:

Do any of you guys know a good technical Mac guy/gal? We have realised that our Mac aid is rather "bum", and anyone we have asked for help has suggested that we use holy water. So we are looking for a temp diamond geezer type of person who can come down every now and then, when their services are required.

Anyone know a good Mac doctor? Someone willing to come and help us out whenever our Macs start wheezing a bit? I'm guessing that if you're in west London, that would be a good start. All suggestions welcome.

We're the fastest growing food and drink company in the UK. It says so here.

Thank you for helping us grow quickly.

But we're still not as fast as this girl.

what should we make films about?

We like making films. We made a nice one about our apples a couple of months ago, and there's plenty more to watch on our YouTube channel. But we thought it was about time we became a bit more responsive and started making stuff that you want to watch. So we want you to tell us what films we should be making.

Our camera skills mean that they'll be fairly basic, but we'd love it if you could tell us what questions you need answering, which innocent people you'd like us to interview, which stories you'd like us to tell.

Post your thoughts as comments at the end of this post - we'll give a month's supply of smoothies to our favourite one.

In the mean time, here's something to brighten up your day - an interview with our very own Shrimp.

p-p-p pancake day

A little something for Shrove Tuesday.

You'll be humming this when you cook your pancakes later, it's 18 years since I first heard it and I still am. Don't forget to get a lemon on the way home. Real ones are best - you can use the leftovers in your tea tomorrow.
